These volumes document the daily actions of the Assistant Superintendent (previously Principal Prison Officer). The record documents advice given to staff, inspection of cells & other areas, and documents various rules and requirements such as muster checks, medical attention to prisoners, requests and complaints, directions received from Governor, security of gaol and other special or unusual occurrences. The record is daily signed off by the Assistant Superintendent (or Principal Prison officer where applicable).
