Full description
Cape Photographic Durchmusterung (CPD), is a general star catalog of the southern sky compiled by J.C. Kapteyn from photographic plates produced by David Gill in Cape Town. Kapteyn measured Gill's plates and this resulted in the publication of the Cape Photographic Durchmusterung in three volumes between 1896 and 1900. It lists positions and magnitudes of some 455 000 stars, brighter than 10th magnitude, from declinations –19° to –90°. This series records data for Zones -52°, -53°, -54°, -64° variously covering steps 2, 3 and 4 by staff at the Sydney Observatory as well as some tables and corrected magnitudes. Subjects
