This series contains registers of surgical operations carried out in the Casualty Unit at the Orange Base Hospital.

The information in the volumes varies slightly over time but typically includes the following: the hospital name with columns headed by the date of the operation, designated theatre, serial number, patient name, age, medical record number, ward, anaesthetic, anaesthetist, theatre sister in attendance, nature of the surgical procedure, total time, surgeon’s name, assistants present and remarks.
