Full description

Kerribree Creek bore in the Albert District, Western Division, was the first Artesian bore sunk in New South Wales in 1888. (1) It was sunk by Mr William Walter Davis, of Kerribree Station, who became a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly in 1889. (2)

This volume is a cash book for Kerribree Creek Artesian Bore kept by its caretaker, R.P. Younger. The volume was retained until 1970 by the Department of Public Works District Office in Bourke. It is divided into Cash: date; no. of receipt butt; particulars of receipt (from whom received; for what received); amount; and total; and Contra: date; particulars of disbursements; Treasury voucher number; amount, and total. Only the first six folios have been used.

Also either loose or pasted into the volume are six receipts from Treasury for monies received from Kerribree Creek Artesian Bore.
