This series consists of the agendas and supporting documentation for meetings of the Medical and Radiation Hygiene Committee to consider and recommend matters referred by the Radiation Advisory Council pertaining to licensing of irradiating apparatus and radioactive substances.

Under section 31 of the Radiation Control Act 1990 the Radiation Advisory Council may establish committees to help it perform its functions. The Council can expand the range of expertise and experience available to it by forming a committee that have a significant degree or autonomy to consider, advise and to act to matters relating to the medical exposure of persons to radiation and those relating to possible consequences following non-medical exposure to radiation.
