The primary function of the Parliamentary Counsel's Office is to develop and draft legislation for introduction into Parliament.
These records are copies of Parliamentary Counsel’s reports relating to withdrawn Cabinet minutes. Each report gives the following details: subject (name of Bill); reference (Cabinet Minute number); date of report and conditions in accordance with which the Bill has been drafted. A summary of the Bill is attached to each report. Also attached is a record of disposal of Parliamentary Counsel’s report that records: subject; source (Minister); number of copies prepared; date of minute; to whom distributed; and date. The sheets also include the annotation that the minute has been withdrawn. The number of the new cabinet minute replacing the withdrawn minute is also annotated.
