These volumes are registers of the admission of temporary patients at Morisset Hospital for the Insane, later known as Morisset Mental Hospital and Morisset Hospital.

The registers start on 3 March 1959, the day following the proclaimed commencement date of the Mental Health Act 1958 (Act No. 45, 1958). The register for March to June 1959 (register numbers T1-T103) shares a volume with the series Register of patients and admission book (NRS 21455). The register of temporary patients starts on the last page of this volume and runs backwards. On the first page of this register, the columns have been relabelled and conform to those printed in the second volume.

There are columns for the recording of the following information relating to patients: date of previous admission (if any); number in register (T prefix); number for the year; date of admission; name; sex; age; social condition (married, single, unknown); number of children; occupation; nativity (where born); residence; religion; how sent (e.g. direction, section of Act); date of medical recommendations and doctors signed by; diagnosis; contributing factors to mental illness; previous attacks (if any); blood serum; date of discharge (as recovered, relieved or not improved); date of death; due date for examination by tribunal; determination of tribunal; date and new registration number if reclassified as a continued treatment patient; and remarks.
