This series comprises a collection of records, from a number of agency sources, that were compiled to assist in the understanding (by the Department of Fair Trading) of proposed legislation and to facilitate the passage of such legislation that was the responsibility of NSW Fair Trading and its precursors – re co-operative and friendly societies, building societies, credit unions etc. The records are a collection of legislation, bills, drafts, Cabinet minutes, Parliamentary debates, explanatory notes, notes for caucus, speeches, press releases etc. The records contain manuscript annotations and copies of the Governors’ approvals.
