This series contains the midwifery register for the War Memorial Hospital at Waverley.

The registers contain the following information: case number, mothers details including: name, address, age, history as to previous pregnancies, labour, and miscarriages, labour (date and hour when labour began, presentation, date and hour when child was born, complications (if any) during labour), Lying-in period (general progress, complications (if any), condition when attendance ceased). Child details including: sex, living or still-born, full time or premature, weight at birth, condition at birth, progress during lying-in period, whether wholly breast-fed or if not, weight when attendance ceased. Midwife details: time of arrival, time when first revisited after delivery, subsequent visits, date when attendance ceased. Name and address of practitioner in attendance, remarks (including any other abnormal conditions or circumstances), signed by midwifery nurse and date.
