These field books consist of computer generated printouts of the input and preliminary adjustment of the observations which are summarised in the Summary and Index Field Books series. The Horizontal Field books observations include details of locality, number of stations, number of fixed stations, number of observations, number of equations, matrix size, band width, observation number, observation direction, computed plane and bearing.

The Vertical field book observations includes and are limited to adjustment levelling, locality, permanent mark, fixed station, distance to and unit weight factor.

The Horizontal and Vertical datum files were created by the Department of Lands in house software systems HAVOC and LEVADJ. The data was then printed out with some hand drawn sketches and signatures.
