This series consists of the set of the minutes for meetings of the Heritage Council of NSW. The subjects covered include: Heritage Division reports; Heritage Council Meeting Action reports, Matters Approved Under Delegation; Listing Matters for Consideration and Decisions; Conservation Matters for Consideration and Decisions; Administrative and Policy Matters for Consideration and Decisions; and other General Business. The Heritage Council of NSW is a statutory body under the Heritage Act 1977 (Act No.136, 1977) (the Act). The Council comprises nine members with a range of knowledge, qualifications and skills and are drawn from the community, the NSW Government and the heritage/conservation profession, and include a nominee of the National Trust (NSW). The Heritage Council makes decisions about the care and protection of places and items that have been identified as being of heritage significance to the people of NSW. It also advises the Minister for Heritage on heritage matters. The Council is supported by the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), which provides professional advice and administrative support to help promote the identification, protection, conservation, management and celebration of heritage places across NSW and maintains the NSW State Heritage Inventory.
