State Survey Marks are part of the State Control Survey Network and assist in the underpinning of the NSW Cadastral Framework. The State Control Survey Network has over 18,000 permanent ground marks. State Survey Marks relative positions are in horizontal and vertical planes. They are determined and recorded in a system that is accessible to the public. The State Control Survey provides information for activities including and not limited to mapping, land information system, mineral exploration and extraction and industrial development.
