Full description

This register contains a summary record of auction sales in land districts controlled by the Maitland Land Board.

The information recorded in the register includes the situation of land, the  area , whether sold, withdrawn or not offered for, number of allotment, upset or realised price, name, address and occupation of purchaser, purchase price, deposit and balance. There is also a column for general remarks such as payment of the balance to treasurer.

This register is ordered chronologically and covers all land districts, with the auctions taking place at Maitland, East Maitland or Greta. There is no index.

Department of Lands circular 12/1935 states that by 31 December 1935 bound registers should be replaced by a card system. (1)
