This series is the official record of the proceedings and debates of the Australasian Federation Conference held in 1890.

The bound volume has text on the cover which reads 'His Excellency The Right Honorable Lord Carrington G.C.M.G. Governor of the Colony of New South Wales'. There is further text on the spine of the volume which reads 'Australasian Federation Conference 1890'.

The Australasian Federation Conference was held in Melbourne from 6 to 14 February 1890. Leading politicians from the six Australian colonies and New Zealand affirmed the desirability of ‘an early union under the crown’ and committed themselves to persuading their governments to send delegates to a convention which would ‘consider and report’ on a scheme for a federal constitution. The volume's dimensions are 210mm x 320mm x 10mm and features tooled leather binding, and gilt-edged pages. The volume was printed by Robert S. Brain, Government Printer Melbourne.
