The series is a set of photograph albums of Jenolan Caves that were presented to Lord Carrington, Governor of New South Wales.
Lord Carrington visited the Jenolan Caves in 1887 and 1889.
The albums dimensions are 500mm x 600mm x 70mm and feature tooled leather binding, gilt-edged pages, and containing between 12 and 14 cloth hinged leaves consisting of mount framed photographs.
The photographs are 300mm x 240mm and are of various views of Jenolan Caves. The interior images were photographed by means of an electric and magnesium light. The photographs have a gilt border and have a description at the bottom of each image.
Volume 1 contains a geological report titled 'The Fish River or Jenolan Caves' by C.S. Wilkinson, Government Geological Surveyor.
The albums were printed by Charles Potter, NSW Government Printer, 1887.
