The series of cards are summaries of commercial fish catches in New South Wales lakes, rivers and ocean waters.
There are two sets of cards, an annual/monthly summary card which divides fish catches up for each month over a twelve month period and an annual summary card which divides fish catches up by year between 1955-1978.
Both sets of cards are arranged by water type either ocean waters or rivers and lakes and within these they are arranged by geographical location running from the north of the state to the south of the state. Each run of cards has a divider indicating the geographical location.
The annual/monthly summary cards have the following template headings on each card:
Water type, geographical location, area number code, year, a list of fish species including crustaceans, monthly catch quantities and totals recorded for six months, twelve months and a catch total.
The annual summary cards have the following template headings on each card:
Water type, list of fish species including crustaceans, year and annual catch totals.
The dimensions of the cards are 28cm x 16cm.
