Full description

This series consists of two volumes listing patients admitted and discharged from the Queen Victoria Sanatorium for tuberculosis sufferers in Wentworth Falls. The volumes date from September 1903 to December 1965.

Each double page of each volume is printed with a table which has been filled in by hand.

Details recorded in the table include the patient's name, address, occupation, age, marital status, admission and discharge dates, disease, occupation, native place and how long in New South Wales, medical officer or name of person recommending admission, result and remarks.

The volume containing the earliest entries contains only men's names reflecting the fact that the Sanatorium initially only admitted men when it was first opened in 1903. The final volume dates from April 1943 to December 1965. The sanatorium became a hospital for the aged and chronically ill at the end of 1957 so this volume includes the admission details of such patients from 1957 to 1965 although the building ceased to be used as a sanatorium in 1958.
