The Pecuniary Interest and Determination Tribunal determined complaints of pecuniary interest contraventions by local government councillors. They determined individual cases by statement of decision or by hearings and have powers to suspend councillors for acts of misbehaviour. Records include hearings, exhibits, statements, correspondence and report determined.
The Pecuniary Interest and Determination Tribunal was constituted under Chapter 14, Part 4, of the Local Government Act 1993 to hold hearings into and decide allegations of contraventions of Part 2 of that Chapter and to perform such other functions as are conferred or imposed on it by the Act. Cases from the Tribunal form part of the Division of Local Government's records.
