Full description

Each register of Use of Common Seal was signed by the College Registrar, under the authority of the Colleges of Advanced Education Act, 1975, Section 18.

This series is comprised of one register with typed pages glued in, and includes lists of students awarded degrees and diplomas to which the Common Seal of the Mitchell College of Advanced Education was affixed. Also included are some graduation programmes glued in to provide full lists of graduating students who would have received testamurs with Common Seal affixed. The first page of the register states: "10th April, 1981, the Registrar be empowered to affix the Common Seal of the College to documents as follows: (i) To any document certifying that a particular person has been admitted to a specified degree or has been granted any other award of the College, after satisfying himself that such person has properly been admitted to such degree or granted such other award; (ii) To any contract of agreement in writing to which the College is a party, after satisfying himself that such contract or agreement has been approved by the appropriate College authority."
