This series consists of minutes for the meetings of the Equal Opportunity Committee of the Mitchell College of Advanced Education.

The minutes are all typed and arranged in chronological order. The minutes document the decisions and resolutions made by the Committee. The following information is contained in the minutes: the date, place and time of the meeting; those people present at the meeting; apologies from people not able to attend; information and resolutions referred to the committee for approval from other committees of the College; resolutions passed by the Committee itself; any correspondence tabled at the meeting; any general business arising; and the date, place and time of the next meeting.

Members of the Equal Opportunity Committee include the Chairman of Council, Deputy Principal, Personnel Officer, and Equal Opportunity Co-ordinator. The purpose of the Equal Opportunity Committee included: the development of an Equal Opportunity Management Plan; Providing information about the background of, and issues relating to Equal Employment Opportunity to new committee members, and also to Council; analysing data from Equal Employment Opportunity Surveys; Creating and reviewing documentaion on recruitment, Selection and appointment practices; Creating and reviewing documentation of staff development and training and conditions of service and College Government and Administration Promotional procedures.
