These registers contain a summary record of all Suburban Holdings in the Land District of Albury, kept by the Albury Lands Office.

This tenure was introduced in 1912 as a lease in perpetuity designed to meet the needs of rural workers desirous of establishing a home in close proximity to country towns and to provide them with the facilities for small cultivation. The leasee was required to erect a dwelling on the land within twelve months.

These registers record information such as the year and number of the Suburban Holding, name and address of applicant, legal date of application, date of confirmation of application, date of issue of grant and to whom issued, name and address of Transferee, date of transfer, date of letter notifying registration of transfer, description of the land applied for, amount of annual rent, payments made, period paid for, interest on late payments, appraised value of improvements, and any further remarks.
