These contain the pre-sentence reports submitted to the Courts, including the standardised personal history forms and written minutes of all enquiries and investigations made by the probation officers, upon which the pre-sentence reports are based.

The files retained by State Records are a ten percent sample of those created by the Adult Probation Service between 1952 and 1956.
