Full description

This series is comprised of volumes containing the minutes of meetings held by the Lockhart Shire Council.

The minutes were handwritten into the volumes until 1941, when they began to be typed. Each set of minutes was signed by the President of the Shire, and later by the Chairman of the Council, usually at the following meeting when they were read and confirmed.

Committees reporting to the Council at each meeting included: the Finance Committee, the Works Committee, the Health Committee, and the Urban Committees. Other reports received by the Council generally came from the Health Inspector, the Shire Engineer, the Shire Clerk and the Noxious Weeds Inspector.
