Full description

This series is comprised of volumes containing the minutes of meetings held by the Urana Shire Council.

The minutes have all been handwritten into the volumes with each set of minutes being signed by the President of the Shire, usually at the following meeting, when they were read and confirmed.

The minutes of every meeting usually included the following proceedings: Attendance, Confirmation of Minutes, Reports, Correspondence, and General Business. At each meeting the Council variously received reports from the President of the Shire, the Shire Clerk, the Shire Engineer, Shire Inspectors, the Finance Committee and the Works Committee.

The minutes document each decision the Council made, including matters concerning roads, buildings, bridges, sanitary concerns, public appointments, tourism and local business.
