Full description

This series consists of correspondence relating to the laws of defamation.

The Law Reform Commission was inaugurated on 1 January 1966 (1) simultaneously with most provisions of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (Act No. 32, 1965) and formally constituted by the Law Reform Commission Act, 1967 (Act No. 39, 1967). The Commission’s role was to review, simplify or modernise laws in response to community consultation.

The records include memorandums, letters, printouts of emails, submissions, discussion papers and speeches.

The correspondence is arranged in chronological order in bound folders organised by type of documentation.
