This volume has been titled “Register of Moneys Received by the Clerk of Petty Sessions, Hay, and Transmitted to Other Offices.” The volume was originally intended as a Register of Gold Lease Applications, but has been modified by the Clerk at Hay. Only one page has been used.

The following information is recorded for each entry: Interim receipt no.; Date of receipt of moneys; Received from; On account of...; Transmitted to; Date of Transmission; and the Date of letter of acknowledgement. An envelope has been attached to the first page containing four Letters of Acknowledgement, which relate some of the entries in the volume.
