Full description

The records describe the activities associated with reviewing the situation of a child, young person or person with a disability or a group of such persons in care. The records relate to reviews (individual or group) of people in care, including conduct of the review and preparation of both preliminary reports and final reports to the Minister. The records also monitor the implementation of review recommendations.

The records comprise of two-ring cardboard files and loose papers, with handwritten names of individuals and organisations, dates and volume or part numbers as required, as well as an 'RV' or 'CRI' classification number. There are also cassette recordings of complaint cases. Indexes and registers are held by the Department. These records also relate to other review files.

The RV and CRI numbers, prefaced by year, relate to the different databases and software systems available at the time that the records were electronically sorted and migrated. RV numbers range from the years 1994-2004, CRI numbers range from the years 2002-2010, commencing in the year the Community Services Division was established.
