This series consists of minutes from the New South Wales Coal Compensation Board. The minutes list who from the board was present and any additional people in attendance at the meeting, outline the main items discussed at the meeting and summarise any resolutions made by the Board. Also included with the minutes are any submissions and attachments related to the items discussed.

Items regularly considered by the Board include discussions regarding claims for compensation for the loss of private coal rights under the Coal Acquisition Act, 1981 (Act No.109, 1981), developments in the coal industry and discussions of budget and pecuniary interests. Some meetings also include determinations by the Board of individual claims for compensation. Other items commonly discussed include business arising from the previous minutes and the Chairman's and Chief Executive Officer's reports.

The typed, signed minutes are arranged in chronological order. With the exception of the final set of minutes (2006-2007), the minutes have been bound into volumes. Each meeting has been numbered and a table of contents at the front of each volume lists the meetings contained within the volume.
