Full description

This series consists of geology reports produced by the New South Wales Coal Compensation Board between 1987 and 2007. The reports have been spiral bound and the arranged in report number order.

Each report pertains to a particular coal mine or to a particular area tendered for coal mining. The reports generally include the exploration history of the mine, identify restrictions and constraints in exploration, detail the coal seam geology and mining potential of the area, identify potential future yields and the quality of the coal resources in that particular mine. Some reports also include an economic report of the mine. Maps, plans and diagrams illustrate the reports.

Also included in this series are a number of "no coal area" reports. These reports assess compensation for the loss of private coal rights under the Coal Acquisition Act 1981 (Act No.109, 1981).
