The Companies (Mining Partnerships) Amendment Act, 1967 which commenced (Section 2 and the Schedule excepted) on 1 January 1968 provided for the repeal of the Mining Partnerships Act, 1900, and the incorporation or winding up of existing mines partnerships in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act. Such registered mining partnerships as had not exercised either of these options were in accordance with the Act dissolved on 31 December 1968 and notification in respect of the dissolutions was made in the Government Gazette on 14 February 1969.Section 2 of the Act repealed the enactments listed in the Schedule, being the Mining Partnerships Act, 1900, all amending Acts, and a reference to the Mining Partnerships Act in the Companies Act. Section 2 of the Act and the Schedule thereto were proclaimed to commence on 30 May 1969.
