Full description

This series comprises a handwritten letterpress book containing copies of outgoing correspondence from Dumaresq Shire Council to individuals, organisations and government agencies. The correspondence deals with a range of subjects including roads, community consultation, financial accounts, rates assessments, significant construction, maintenance, elections and boundary changes. It includes copies of correspondence sent initially by the Chairman of the Council and later by the first Shire Clerk, Arthur Stacy. The earliest letters, addressed to the Under Secretary, Public Works Department, deal mainly with the establishment of the Council and the election of members.

There is an alphabetical index at the front of the register providing access via recipient name, location and folio number.
