Charges and summonses are recorded in two separate sequences in the earlier volume in this series. The following details are recorded for the summons cases: date of trial, no. of case, complainant, defendant, offence or cause of action, act under which tried, fees paid previous to trial by complainant and defendant, how disposed of, signatures of magistrates, whether imprisoned or fine paid. Police charges brought for trial record these details: date of trial, no. of case, name of prisoner, offence, if previously convicted and particulars if known, result of trial, signatures of magistrates, whether imprisoned or fine paid.

In the later volume, charges and summonses are recorded in one chronological sequence. The following details are recorded: date of hearing, number of case and whether charge or summons, prosecutor or complainant, defendant, offence or cause of action, Act and Section, fees chargeable or paid previous to hearing, date fees paid, how disposed of, signature of magistrates, whether imprisoned, time allowed, or paid, etc., date of payment and total amount.
