This series consists of the by-laws from the Goulburn College of Advanced Education (GCAE). Under the Colleges of Advanced Education Act (1975), all Colleges were required to create, and have endorsed, a set of by-laws which governed the administrative and organisational aspects of the College.The by-laws of GCAE included sections on: the interpretation and definition of terms; detailed procedures concerning the composition and conduct of the Council; the roles and duties of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Council; general information on the Committees and Boards of the College, and the proper conduct of meetings; details pertaining to the use of the College’s common seal; duties of the Principal; general staff matters; student conduct and discipline; procedures regarding courses of study, awards and the enrolment of students; applicable fees; the regulation of traffic on College grounds; rules for the affiliation of educational and research establishments and residential Colleges; and procedures to be followed in regards to counting votes and ascertaining the results of ballots.
