Much of the correspondence involves the local government areas notifying the Lower Clarence County Council of the names of aldermen and councillors elected as delegates to the Lower Clarence County Council.Other correspondence includes circular’s from the Department of Local Government, notification to the Bank of New South Wales regarding the election of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Lower Clarence County Council, resignation of councillors, and alterations to the Lower Clarence County Council’s superior agencies. There are also requests from the Department of Local Government for the name(s) of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Lower Clarence County Council after an election when the Department had not been notified.There are also two name lists for the Council’s Chairman (President) and Deputy Chairman. This series consists mainly of correspondence from the Lower Clarence County Council advising the Council’s superior agencies and the Department of Local Government of the result of elections for the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Council. The series commences with the election of the first Council Chairman and Deputy Chairman in 1950.
