There is correspondence with the local press instructing them to print the Statements of Accounts and the Council was also required to send these published Statements of Accounts to the Department of Local Government.There is also correspondence with the Government Statistician regarding the forwarding of the Statements of Accounts to the Statistician. There is a letter from the Commonwealth Bureau of Census and Statistics requesting the Council’s 1958 Annual Statement of Accounts. Full description

This series of correspondence consists mainly of letters from the Lower Clarence County Council to the Department of Local Government regarding the Council’s Annual Statement of Accounts. There are letters notifying the Department of the impending audit of Accounts and the forwarding of audited accounts to the Department as required under Ordinance 26, Clause 50(a) of the Local Government Act, 1919.
