The publications have been divided into separate categories: books; journals and other publications; newspapers; meetings (arranged by date of meeting, and consisting of publications purchased by Police for consideration by the State Advisory Committee on Publications); and other which includes greeting cards, untitled booklets, posters, playing cards, pamphlets, a phonograph record, and photographs.The State Advisory Committee on Publications was constituted under Section 31 of the Obscene and Indecent Publications (Amendment) Act, 1967 (Act No.54, 1967), to examine and report to the Minister upon publications presented for consideration. This consists of a variety of publications, including paperback and hard-cover books, periodicals, journals, newspapers, and University student publications either seized by the Vice Squad or otherwise obtained for classification or review purposes under the provisions of the Obscene and Indecent Publications Act, 1901 (Act No.12, 1901), as amended, and the Indecent Articles and Classified Publications Act, 1975 (Act No.32, 1975).

The publications have been divided into separate categories: books; journals and other publications; newspapers; meetings (arranged by date of meeting, and consisting of publications purchased by Police for consideration by the State Advisory Committee on Publications); and "other" which includes greeting cards, untitled booklets, posters, playing cards, pamphlets, a phonograph record, and photographs.
