Full description

This series consists of the handwritten minutes of the quarterly meetings of the Parents' and Citizens' Association of Cessnock Public School, and was received with the records of the School proper. It documents the activities of the Association in support of the School, which consisted largely of fund-raising activities, volunteer service, and petitioning the Department of Education for necessary works at the school. Two volumes of the series are held, covering the years 1916-1936, which appears to be the first twenty years of the Association's existence. This includes the period leading up to the separation of the secondary classes and the establishment of Cessnock High School as a separate school in 1934.
