Full description

These papers provide a listing of Calthorpe's Conservation and Management Plan, including the requirement that the house be used as a Museum, with as much free and unencumbered access as possible, with the need to assist visitors to understand the significance of the place, and an emphasis on the social conditions which produced the house and its lifestyle. A residential use should be maintained and the main elements of the house contents should remain in the house, with any changes to furnishings fully documented, and items of ephemera carefully catalogued and stored, plus maintenance of housekeeping practices continued and the garden restored in line with the report's recommendations.

The papers also list fees received from Government House Open Days, provision of afternoon teas provided for all Volunteers and Honorary Guides, plus the Croquet Players Association, Royal Botanic Gardens, Naval Support Command, piano students from NSW Conservatorium, NSW Police Concert Band, Corrective Services Department, NSW Fire Brigades, Public Works Department, St Johns Ambulance, and the Red Cross, with the Royal Horticultural Society investing money with the Treasury Corporation to accrue interest.

Also listed are security officers for the front gate and control room, plus provisions for the Children's Medical Research Institute (Scottish Hospital), and the ordering of 7 gazebos (red and white striped), 1 bandstand marquee (white), 1 staff refreshment marquee, 1 band, with hiring charges and delivery to be advised, plus lunch provided for guides and essential staff on Sunday only, but tea and coffee provided on both days, with a lunch quote from R & W Gourmet Sandwiches, Glebe accepted.
