Full description
The 'Rules of Council' were the specific rules put into place by the governing body of the Riverina College of Advanced Education / Riverina-Murray Institute of Higher Education, the Council, which controlled all aspects of the College’s / Institute’s development and direction.
The Rules themselves were derived directly from the College By-Laws and covered topics including: the power and authority of the Principal; the appointment, promotion and progression of staff; the academic progress of students; the maintenance and enforcement of good order of students within the college; the Chairman’s allowance; appeals by students; conditions of employment; appointments of praelectors and the election of members to Council; and other staff matters. Amendments and additions to the rules were issued regularly and staff were urged to keep a correct and up-to-date copy at all times.
The series is arranged in chronological order, with the 'Rules of Council' being printed for distribution each year in booklet form, with amendments and additions being issued annually.
