This record series consists of the various reports and plans submitted by New South Wales public sector agencies (including authorities, departments and State Owned Corporations, higher education institutions , universities, public hospitals and area health services) in accordance with these statutory requirements. The reports detail the various agency’s equal employment opportunity plans, affirmative action plans, initiatives, focus and diversity achievements aimed at improving their workforce practices, and agency progress evaluations based on their annual reports, management plans and statistical data. The New South Wales Anti-Discrimination (Amendment) Act 1980 required public sector agencies to report annually to the Office of the Director of Equal Opportunity in Public Employment regarding their compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity standards. (Section 9A of the Act). Performance was documented by Equal Employment Opportunity Annual Reports, Annual Affirmative Action Plans, and three-yearly Equal Employment Opportunity Management Plans.
