Full description
This volume comprises the paper which J.J.C. Bradfield, Chief Engineer, Sydney Harbour Bridge, submitted to the Institution of Civil Engineers in London in 1933.
While the focus of the paper is a detailed discussion of the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from an engineering viewpoint, Bradfield outlines the history of proposals to connect both sides of the harbour which commenced in 1811. The author also makes reference to his related plan for the electrification of the suburban railway and the provision of a City railway loop. The appendices to the paper include quantities and costings.
This is a leather bound copy of Bradfield's paper.
