Those record series were incorporated into the State Records series system of archives control and were re-numbered.This series was formerly part of the State Rail Archives collection where it was identified as series R62. Full description

This series comprises railway and tramway construction contracts and their prerequisite technical specifications. The contract schedules list both trade labour and material types - concrete, glass, iron, paint, and steel, required. They then detail the methods of gauging and riveting to be used. There are also stipulation's on how a contractual arrangement can be finalised, the assignment of monies, wage rates, patent rights, and proceedings if a contractor defaults.

From 1955 until 2000 the State Rail Authority of New South Wales maintained an ‘in house archives’ consisting of the archival records of the Authority, its predecessor agencies and the private railway companies taken over by the government.
