Full description
This series comprises correspondence concerning applications for land already under lease and for ballots for new leases. It includes applications and exhibits files, allotment files, disposal files and additional areas files. These contain application forms, representations in favour of applications, and correspondence entered into concerning applications. The applications and exhibits files also include surveys of primary production on lease holdings and evidence given before Local Land Boards for conflicting applications. These files are concerned primarily with land already under lease where each applicant is considered on his merit.The series also includes files relating to ballots for land released from larger holdings, mainly for grazing blocks for ex-servicemen. These files contain application forms, references in favour of the applicant, where applicable, and lists of ballots previously applied for. They are arranged alphabetically by name of applicant in groups of applications accepted for or excluded from a particular ballot.
