The Auction book records the following information: the addresses of rented premises in the inner city area of Sydney, the valuation and valuation number, the owner's name, the tenant's name, the rent payable, the length of the lease, and whether the rented premises are furnished or unfurnished. There are also some newspapers cuttings in the volume, which record sales of buildings referred to elsewhere in the book.

The volume is of particular interest because of the information it provides on property rental in the Sydney area.
