The volumes contain a financial record of receipts and expenditure of the Colony. There are monthly abstracts of which the following are examples: sums received from the Collectors of Revenue (from land rent, liquor licences, etc.); advances made on Account of the Public Service; advances made on Account of Fixed Establishments; and sums received from the Colonial Agent in England.

There is also a monthly balance sheet setting out an abstract of receipts and expenditure.
