The first is dated 26 January 1826 and concerns the means to be followed in carrying out the Royal Instructions of 1825 relative to the division of the Colony and the disposal of Crown lands. It contains details of the amount of land granted up to 1822 and the conditions on which it was granted. It contains observations about the practicability of carrying out the instructions concerning the reservation of lands for glebes and for the Clergy and School Lands Corporation and the difficulty in carrying out the instructions concerning the valuation of Crown lands. It also contains remarks on the resumption of land for public roads and suggests the abolition of tickets of occupation for grazing unsold Crown lands. The report is printed in HRA 1.xiv. 303 et seq. The report dated 16 December 1827 concerns the impracticability of granting land to settlers, taking into account the quality of the land in relation to the amount of capital possessed by the settlers, and what quit rent had to be paid on the cash valuation, and the expediency of allowing settlers to purchase larger quantities of land than permitted by the existing regulations and proposals for a new method of payment for land purchased. (This report is printed in HRA 1.xiv. 295 et seq.) There are also two reports dated October 1827 concerning the right of the Crown to re-enter upon land the lease of which land had expired and the payment of quit rents.(2/1924 part). 1 vol (part). The report is printed in HRA 1.xiv. 303 et seq.

(This report is printed in HRA 1.xiv. 295 et seq.)

There are also two reports dated October 1827 concerning the right of the Crown to re-enter upon land the lease of which land had expired and the payment of quit rents.
