These are letters received from private persons and officials. The subject matter of the letters from private persons chiefly consists of requests for the measurement and survey of land selected by the writers and some letters requesting the lease of crown lands, and letters requesting that land be brought forward for sale at auction.The letters from officials are mostly of a routine nature such as requests from the Auditor General for information about details of expenditure, letters from the Attorney General requesting information about land boundaries etc. There are also letters from Crown Land Agents forwarding returns of land sold at auction.
