Full description
These are letters to individuals informing them of the Governor's approval of grants of land in their favour. In many instances the reason for the grant is given in the letter, with the quantity of land to be granted also specified. The letters were then given, by persons to whom they were addressed, to the Surveyor General as authority to measure the land. Additional letters belonging to this series are presently filed with Letters received from private persons and officials, 1820-55 (2/1629-716).(2/1628). 1 box.
