The roll of barristers records the names of those admitted by the Supreme Court to practice as Barristers under An Act to regulate the admission in certain cases of Barristers in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, 1876 (39 Vic. Act No.32) and subsequent Acts.

The Roll records the barrister's full name or signature, date of admission and remarks. Examples of remarks include the place of qualification, previous experience in other jurisdictions, transfer to the bar in another place, conditional enrolment, final admission being struck off or having died.

The volume is arranged chronologically by admission date. There is no index.
