Full description

Correspondence mainly relating to the appointment of commissioners of affidavits, and including some commissions bearing the seal of the Supreme Court and the signature of the Chief Justice. There are applications for commissions and certificates of fitness, petitions, recommendations from referees and commissions returned for cancellation. Applications are annotated giving details of whether the commission was granted or refused and when it was issued. Also included is the Report of the Incorporated Law Institute of New South Wales on Charges for Affidavits, November 1911. Commissioners for taking affidavits were authorised to take and receive affidavits concerning any matter within the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.
